The Battle Against Product Piracy at Trade Fairs: Schall Group of Companies Takes Action in Cooperation with Trade Fair Promoters in Baden-Württemberg
Trade fairs are highly successful marketing instruments, not least because they are taken advantage of to exhibit the respective industry’s newest products. Unfortunately, they are coveted terrain for product pirates as well precisely for this reason, who are thus able to discover models for their counterfeits and present their imitations as exhibitors. In cooperation with other trade fair promoters associated with the Baden-Württemberg Trade Fair Forum, the Schall group of companies has committed itself to take action against product piracy in a targeted fashion. In a mutual statement issued on 16 June 2008, trade fair promoters from Freiburg, Friedrichshafen, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Offenburg, Sinsheim, Stuttgart, Ulm and Villingen-Schwenningen, as well as Hinte and Schall trade fair promoters, agreed upon a mutual action catalogue under the chairmanship of Baden-Württemberg’s minister for economic affairs Ernst Pfister. Central points range from comprehensive information regarding possible legal action for exhibitors whose intellectual property rights have been violated, right on up to the possible exclusion of exhibitors who have committed such violation. Detailed information and the mutual statement issued by the above mentioned trade fair promoters can be accessed by clicking the “Battle Against Product Piracy” banner at the websites for all Schall trade fairs.
